Materials Synthesis and Processing (IEK-1)

The construction and manufacturing workshop supports IEK-1’s R&D work by designing, constructing, and manufacturing devices and experimental setups. Material samples and components for use in experiments and their subsequent characterization are also conditioned here. For this purpose, the unit makes use of an entire machine park, including CAD/CAM facilities and pertinent welding and soldering facilities. Assistance in setting up or modifying experiment equipment and facilities is another aspect of the mechanical workshop’s tasks.
