Audience

The course is intended for PostDocs, Master and PhD students with scientific background in (Geo-) Physics, Meteorology, Chemistry, Applied Mathematics and Geoecology, especially if his or her further study will be focused on topics related to the Atmospheric Chemistry and Dynamics. Other participants are also welcomed. However, good basic knowledge and experience with linear algebra, differential calculus and statistics are essential for a successful completion of the course.

Credits

University of Cologne

The course awards credits following *the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System* (*ECTS*), which may differs between master's degree programmes.

For the University of Cologne programme "Physics of the Earth and Atmosphere" and "International Master of Environmental Sciences", 3 credit points will be awarded upon successful completion, with credits for participation at lectures and exercises, upon demonstrating study attainment and performance by an interview.

University of Wuppertal

For the students from the University of Wuppertal, this summer school is a "Compulsory Course" within the "Disciplinary Science" in the Master Program "Computer Simulation in Science" at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal. Upon successful completion of the course, students can receive 5 credit points through an interview.
